the ice box in a refrigerator - what principle is this
generally a refrigerator is divided into a deep freezer and cold storage. The deep freezer maintains very low temperature for icing purposes. Some fridges has three compartments, one for ice, another for deep freezing objects like meat and the third for low cooling objects like vegetables.
This is a good article, nicely articulated.
To be novel, an invention must be substantially different from what is already there in public knowledge. Means it should have not been published, made or sold in the market.
However, if two different things are known but their combination is not known, then their combination can be considered as novel. For example, a shoe is known, an air conditioner is known, but fitting an air conditioner in a shoe is not in practice. Hence, an air conditioned shoe can be novel to be patented.
To be non-obvious, the proposed invention must not be easily perceived by a person of expertise in that invention’s particular field. One may not patent a toaster that is bigger to toast large breads, as a large toaster would obviously toast large breads.
To be useful, an invention must work and serve some type of purpose. You would not be able to patent a time machine unless you could get it to work. One may not patent a flying carpet, an imagination that may get possible in future.
